Eileen Barker

 

EILEEN BARKER is a forgiveness teacher, forgiveness coach, and a leader in the movement to integrate emotional healing and forgiveness in conflict resolution.   A practicing litigation lawyer who rejected the traditional adversarial role, Eileen has focused her practice on mediation and conflict resolution for over twenty years, helping thousands of people resolve disputes outside of court.  This work led her into a deep exploration of forgiveness as it relates to resolving conflict and making peace, both with others and oneself.  She has led numerous trainings on forgiveness, provided forgiveness coaching for both individuals and organizations, and is the author of the Forgiveness Workbook and Forgiveness Meditation CD.

Eileen has taught at the University of California Berkeley School of Law, University of California Hastings College of Law, John F. Kennedy University Graduate School of Professional Psychology, Sonoma (CA) State University, and Creighton University, Werner Institute. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Georgetown University Law Center and also holds an honors degree in psychology from Indiana University.

As a guest speaker, she has been a repeat presenter at the Association for Conflict Resolution Annual Conference, the American Bar Association Dispute Resolution Section and the Association for Dispute Resolution of Northern California, and has also presented to such organizations as Stanford University Law School, Georgetown Law Center, and the California Judges Association (among others).
